We spent a sun-drenched Saturday floating around Lake Thun with our friends Adam, Kristina and Phil. Just two hours of postcard scenery over a decadent picnic of champagne and stinky cheeses. When I got home to see all of the photos I took so I could Tweet, Instagram and blog them, I discovered there was a smudge on every single one (except for this shot). I let out a long sigh and shook my head. What a rookie mistake!
If a tree falls in the forest and no one is there to Instagram it, did it happen?
It did. It most certainly did. I had a heavenly day with or without the proof.
It was a good reminder to me that real life happens in real time and not when you are racking up “likes” online. Not that I’m completely addicted to social media, but sometimes I do need to tell myself it’s OK to enjoy a view, a cocktail or a pair of shoes and just keep it to myself.
Still, you should really plan a trip to Thun. Check out the photos Kristina took if you don’t believe me. Meanwhile, a few links that will scare you off of social media (sorry!):

Wondeful post 🙂 that lake looks pretty good
Yes, but…but…the fresh air over the fresh water lake…didn’t that enliven? 🙂
